Football Card Values (2026): The Free Price Guide Built on Real Sales
On this page
This is a working price guide, not a listicle. Every value on this page comes from real sold comps tracked by Graded's pricing engine, the same data that powers our live football market index. No asking prices, no estimated book values. If you are holding a card and wondering what it is worth, the free lookup workflow below takes about 30 seconds.
- Most football cards are worth under $1. Value concentrates in quarterbacks, rookie cards, scarce parallels and autographs, and high grades.
- The tracked blue chips run from $1,410 to $1,815,000, topped by the 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Ticket Tom Brady rookie autograph.
- Quarterbacks carry the market. Seven of the ten cards in our football index are QBs, and the premium is structural, not a fad.
- You can price any card for free with the three-step lookup below: cert check, sold comps, live index.
How much are football cards worth?
The overwhelming majority of football cards sell for less than $1, while the graded blue chips we track run from $1,410 to $1,815,000 as of July 2026. Football's pyramid is steeper than any other sport's because of one position: quarterback. The base of the pyramid is the usual ocean of commons and overprinted 90s wax. The middle is star rookies in high grades. The top is almost entirely quarterbacks, and the very top is a different asset class again: scarce, serial-numbered rookie autographs like the Brady Championship Ticket.
Four questions predict a football card's value: Who is on it, and do they play quarterback? Is it the rookie card or the key parallel? What grade is it in? And how scarce is it, in print run and in population? The live numbers are below.

The liquid end of the Brady market is the 2000 Bowman Chrome rookie, with 1,240 PSA 10s and steady comps around $26,400. The full index view, with 12-month charts, lives at the football market index.
How to look up your football card's value for free
You can price any football card in three steps, free, without an account. Start by searching your card right here; if you do not know its exact name, type what you can read off the card (year, brand, player) and pick from the matches.
Look up any football card
Showing grade 10 — add a grade to your search (e.g. “psa 9”, “bgs 9.5”) to change it. Works for PSA, BGS, SGC, CGC & CSG. No login.
- If the card is graded, verify the cert first. Type the cert number into our cert lookup to confirm the grade, the card's exact identity, and its population.
- Check real sold prices, not asking prices. Our PSA value lookup shows what the card actually sells for by grade, from real comps rather than scraped listings.
- For blue chips, read the index. The football index tracks the bellwether cards with monthly medians, so you can time a sale against the market instead of guessing.
What makes a football card worth money?
Position, rookie status, scarcity, and grade, roughly in that order. The cleanest demonstration in the entire hobby is Tom Brady's 2000 rookie year. The Bowman Chrome base rookie in PSA 10 trades around $26,400 on a population of 1,240. The Championship Ticket, the same player in the same year but serial-numbered to 100 with an on-card autograph, last traded at $1,815,000. That is roughly a 69x spread built from nothing but scarcity and the signature.

Grade drives the rest. The difference between a PSA 9 and PSA 10 of the same modern card is routinely several multiples; we quantified it in PSA 9 vs PSA 10. On vintage football, like vintage baseball, each grade rung multiplies the price and true gems are census events.
How much is a Tom Brady card worth?
Common Tom Brady cards sell for a few dollars; his key graded rookies run from about $26,400 for the Bowman Chrome in PSA 10 to $1,815,000 for the Championship Ticket autograph. Between those poles sits a deep ladder of 2000-year rookies and early inserts at three and four figures, which makes Brady one of the few players where a serious position is buildable at almost any budget. The full ladder, with per-card comps and charts, is in the best Tom Brady cards guide.
Panini football card values: Prizm is the reference
For modern football, the Panini Prizm rookie is each quarterback's reference card, and the Silver Prizm parallel is the investment tier. In PSA 10, the 2018 Silver Prizm Josh Allen trades around $9,300, the 2017 Silver Prizm Patrick Mahomes around $5,850, and the 2020 Silver Prizm Joe Burrow around $1,410. Base Prizm rookies are the liquidity tier, Silvers are the standard chase, and low-numbered colored parallels carry the real scarcity premium above that.

If you are pricing a Panini card from a fat stack of 2016-2023 wax, the honest rule is the same as every modern era: the star quarterback rookies in gem-candidate condition are worth checking, and the rest is bulk. Run candidates through the PSA value lookup before paying grading fees.
Are vintage football cards worth anything?
The icons are worth five figures and up in top grades: the 1986 Topps Jerry Rice trades around $87,000 in PSA 10, the 1976 Topps Walter Payton around $70,500, and the 1981 Topps Joe Montana around $60,000 on a population of just 115. A rung below, the 1984 Topps Dan Marino brings about $5,160 and the 1989 Score Barry Sanders about $1,920, both in PSA 10. Vintage football is thinner than vintage baseball, which cuts both ways: fewer collectors, but genuinely small gem populations on the cards that matter.
